I did it! I managed to go a whole 4 days without thinking of matchmaking and resisted all urges to check my emails – ok that’s a fib I did check everyday but I didn’t respond to any so for that i’m giving myself a pat on the back! I’m sure many of you will agree that sometimes work can be all encompassing, no matter what sector you work in there are deadlines to be met, reports to be written and problems that cause you sleepless nights! Add to that the stresses of day to day life and we can sometimes end up feeling a little swamped and craving time to relax, distress and be with loved ones who we may have been neglecting unintentionally.

THIS IS WHAT A BANK HOLIDAY IS FOR!

For me, Bank Holidays are always about taking that extra long weekend to forget about work and focus on other important things in my life – like my relationship with C and family. This August Bank Holiday we had C’s aunt and uncle visiting us from Holland and as C doesn’t get to see his family all that often we wanted to make it extra special. As soon as their plane hit English soil we were jumping on the train and watching the rain fall heavily against the window as we sped out of London. What a wonderful feeling! Cosy and warm in the train, a long weekend of adventures ahead and all with special people. The weekend was spent drinking too much tea in Canterbury, wine tasting in a beautiful little vineyard and eating fish and chips on Whitstable bay. A perfect weekend was had.

I hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend Cx
